Bates Cabins- Smoky Mountain Cabin Rentals are nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains on a large plateau across the valley from of our 60 acre parcel, this large vacation home is perfect for multi-family or other large groups.  From the wrap around porch the view of Cowee Valley and the Smoky Mountains beyond is spectacular.

 

The large master bedroom features a sitting area as well as it's own fireplace.    There is a detached garage to park your car if you desire.  Much of the wood used on the house came directly from the site.  The Mountain Laurel used on the outside handrail came from the site.  The (dead-standing) Black Locust used for the interior handrail came from the site.

 

Wildlife that can often been seen from the wrap around porch include Hummingbirds, deer, turkey, chipmunks, and squirrel.  At night, if you're lucky, you might see the shy, nocturnal flying squirrel.  For the kids this log cabin rental offers a small yard with a swing set as well as a game table in the lower level of the house.

 

For the gem mining enthusiast this log cabin rental is situated between close to two mines still open here in Cowee Valley.  Sheffield Mine, featured on the travel channel, is about 2 1/2 miles east.  Cherokee Mine, where the largest star ruby ever found in North America was found a few years ago, is directly down the mountain.  You actually have to drive past Cherokee Mine to get to cabin 6.  Also close to Cabin 6 is Cowee Valley Lapidary where you can have your gem stones professionally cut and set.   

 

All of our Smoky Mountains log cabin vacation rentals are kid friendly and pet friendly.  Each of our vacation homes has a pac-n-play, highchair, and stroller as well as safety gates and/or child-proof door knobs that restrict their access to stairs.  The gates on the porches act to keep your pets restricted and safe as well.
